Oasis Academy Wintringham opened in September 2007, replacing Wintringham School. In its first year the Academy was housed in the existing school buildings. The Academy transferred across to its brand new buildings in February 2009.
Oasis Academy Wintringham is sponsored by Oasis Community Learning, which is a separate charity, but is part of the Oasis Global family. Oasis UK, a Christian organisation, was founded by Rev Steve Chalke M.B.E. in 1985, and began its work in the UK but now delivers educational, healthcare and housing projects throughout the world.
The Academy is working in close partnership with Oasis communities in India through its Global Links Stratergy to develop relationships and reinforce the Oasis ethos. For further information on the Academy please browse our website.
The Academy aims to become a centre for vocational and academic excellence and specialises in Sport and Health, with business and enterprise.
Each student's education is a careful balance between practical training and academic learning. Courses may include: Health and Social Care, Sports Science, Hospitality and Catering, PE and Outdoor Pursuits. The Academy is always forging links with local businesses and organisations to enhance students’ ‘education for life’. Working with other local schools, Oasis Academy Wintringham offers a unique resource to the local community.
