Sixty elderly and infirm pensioners, many in their eighties and nineties, and their drivers were welcomed by Principal Ms. Jane Bowman.
Health and Social Care Students ensured the guests were well cared for throughout the evening, whilst Btec catering students served a sumptuous buffet.
Following the buffet, the Friendship Club was entertained with a lively bingo session. This was followed by entertainment from Academy students the “Freacum Dancers” and the “Oasis Twist Dancers”, directed by Miss Heidi Stennett.
Mr Mike Redmond’s Oasis Academy Wintringham Choir then sang a montage of African melodies to the delight of the audience. The entertainment was rounded off with songs from students, Erica Leadbetter, Chelsea Ashworth and Precious Ukaiwa with a final rendition from Compere, Paul Leadbetter.
The chairman of the club, Mrs Dora Beales, thanked organiser Mrs. Roberta Roberts for a truly spectacular evening which proved to be a wonderful climax for their 40th anniversary.
