7-Up! . . and Away

On the evening of Thursday 26th November, the Academy hosted an event called '7Up...and Away!' - the first of a series of events during the year for both year 7 children and their parents. It was a great success! Lots of children and their families came- the hall was nearly full! The evening helped parents to find out about what to expect during their child’s first year. Children reflected on their time so far at the Academy through readings and presentations. Information such as ‘The Passport to Learning’ Home Learning initiative was explained in more detail as well as the Enrichment Programme and Sport Specialism. Finally, there were opportunities to look at some of the fantastic work that the children had been doing both in class and at home. The evening concluded with a free prize draw with some fantastic prizes! The next ‘7Up’ event will be in February and the focus will be on ‘Fitness and Fun for the Family’- so watch this space!
