Oasis Academy

Community...

The vision of the Academy is to create both an outstanding school and a community hub.

The opportunity to include valuable community facilities comes through the new building. The aim is for local residents to be able to access an adult learning centre and cyber café; a learning resource centre; a gym; sports courts and out-of-hours youth activities.

Services which support the health and well-being of the Academy and local community are integral to Oasis Community Learning's Academies programme. In Grimsby we are seeking to work closely with local GP's and health professionals to establish health and well-being services where they are required. As well as serving students, the Academy aims to be a hub for the entire community.

Oasis believes that it has a duty to respect the environment through a commitment to sustainability and bio-diversity. Resources entrusted to the Oasis Academy will be used with integrity and responsibility.

Oasis Academy Wintringham is involved in numerous projects engaging with the local community. If you are interested in linking a project with the school please contact Julie Atkin on 01472 870 056 or click here to email.

How you can help to make the vision a reality...

Donations

Oasis was responsible for raising a minimum of £2 million to ensure Oasis Academy Wintringham became a reality. Securing this £2m towards the overall capital cost - the rest of which central government covered - was essential if Oasis Academy Wintringham was to rise from the ground. However, on top of this, extra money is required to fulfil the whole vision of providing a community hub. Your support could help the vision come to life.

As his own personal commitment to serve the Academies' communities Steve Chalke, Chief Executive of Oasis Community Learning, ran the London Marathon in 2005 and 2007 to raise vital funds for Oasis Academies. His efforts have raised over £3 million, and he is now the Guinness world record holder for the largest amount of sponsorship money ever raised by an individual - over £1.8million raised from running the 2007 Flora London Marathon.

You can help Oasis to raise these funds by making a secure donation online. Each gift brings us closer to the goal of providing better education and choice for young and old people alike in Grimsby.
