Proposed Changes Academy Day

Reasons for change:

 

  1. We will move into the new building during 2008/2009 and the new dining area will not facilitate the current arrangements for students
  2. 1 hour teaching blocks of time are not appropriate for new courses and learning methodologies
  3. Tutor time at the start of the day does not provide a focussed beginning
  4. Academic mentoring of students requires a longer period of time – currently 20 mins with other tasks to perform
  5. Academy reading time is desired to help promote literacy development
  6. In order to deliver a more holistic approach to learning a whole academy enrichment programme is proposed for all staff and student – 1hour a week
  7. As a specialist sport and health academy we recognise that healthy eating is the key to the educational experience that we offer. A pre school opportunity for eating, a breakfast experience and lunch experience will all be part of the day

    We would like to invite all parents to a meeting at 6pm on 13th May at the Academy to view the final proposal.
