Sue Girard (Learning Director for Creative and Expressive Arts) initiated and organised the Oasis Academy Wintringham's first Open Art Exhibition which we were proud to present on Tuesday 15th July from 6.00-8.00 p.m.
As Oasis Community is all about true inclusion we believed that it was essential to exhibit all work presented by staff, friends and parents as well as at least one piece of work from every student who takes art at Key Stage 3 and 4 at our academy. We have also included work form the Year 6 transition group to show how quickly students take on the Oasis Academy ethos to aim as high as possible to achieve your personal best.
Over 200 separate pieces of work were on display at the 1st Oasis Academy Wintringham Modern Art Exhibition. Submissions were from students, staff and parents.
The evening attracted many families with children at the academy or moving up in the future. Staff and students were on hand to serve refreshments including strawberries and “Prosecco” (an Italian sparkling wine).
We believe that you will agree that the standard of work in each category is exceptional and we invite you to spend time browsing the interesting and diverse work that our community has produced.
Everyone has been involved in one way or another in putting together this exhibition and it has taken a long time to plan and put together. Our thanks go out to everyone involved.
The whole evening was a cultural and creative success.
