Yes, they can. However, they must be switched off and put away at the school gate on arrival and not used until leaving the site. If seen, the phone will be confiscated and parents required to come to the Academy to collect.

None at all.  All places at the Academy will be free and available to the local community within an admission policy that mirrors the admissions arrangements for other local schools.  Students will be accepted irrespective of ability or faith.

Staff and students of all faiths are welcome to be part of each Oasis Academy and faith is not a factor in the admissions criteria for the school.  The academies are 'schools of religious character' in order to enable Oasis' ethos of inclusion, which is grounded on the Christian faith, to be prominent in the school's character.

Academies are publicly funded independent schools.  The majority of the funding comes direct from central government.  The  Education Funding Agency  (formerly the YPLA)  will fund the annual running costs of the academies via a grant each academic year.  The sponsor has responsibility for the day to day running of the academy.  Oasis academies are sponsored by Oasis Community Learning, an exempt charity.

Academies are state-funded independent schools and in many cases, join an academy network or family.  

If your child is unwell and unable to attend school, please contact the Academy opting for the Reporting Student absence option before 8.30am. If your child is unwell for consecutive days, please contact the Academy on each day that they are unable to attend.

One small stud earring ONLY is permitted in each ear. A wristwatch may be worn. A small nosestud may be worn. This must be removed in all PE lessons & DT (or required). No other piercings are permitted.

These items will need to be removed for some activities and are the responsibility of the student.

We strongly believe in the importance of school uniform as we believe it helps create a strong sense of identity and unity.  As such it is compulsory that it is worn at all times of the school day.  

If you have a complaint about any aspect of the Academy, please contact the Academy office where we will talk you through the relevant procedure. If the matter is really urgent a senior member of staff will normally see you as soon as possible.  However, specific staff will not be able to see parents without an appointment. Please email, write or telephone: an appointment can usually be arranged at short notice.

There will be an option for students to wear tracksuit trousers for PE. They must be black.
