Oasis Food Projects
We are very excited to announce that we have teamed up with local charity ‘We are One Foundation’ to be able to deliver some great food projects.
The Friday Sandwich Club
Every Friday, in collaboration with the We Are One Foundation, our fantastic volunteers join us to prepare hundreds of sandwiches which are given in food parcels to those who need support in Grimsby.
We meet at Oasis Hub South Grimsby at 10.30am every Friday and prepare sandwiches until 3pm. If you can offer your support and time, please feel free to pop along. We appreciate how busy people are so any help you can offer is greatly appreciated.
If you would like join, please email Michelle or call 07983 298965 for more information. Any time that you can share helps!
We are very pleased that the We are One Foundation are also supporting both of our breakfast clubs at Oasis Academy Nunsthorpe and Wintringham with donations of bread.
If there is any left-over bread that will not be used by the breakfast clubs, this is given to our families through our community space. If you know of a family that could do with a loaf of bread, please get in touch with Michelle or Sarah and they will make the arrangements for you.
Community Pantry & Food Parcels
Oasis Hub South Grimsby works in partnership with the We Are One Foundation. The Hub team allows people to make direct referrals to access the a food parcel scheme, if a student or family is identified as urgently in need of a food parcel due to difficult circumstances, the Hub is able to access support within 24 hours.
The Hub makes use of this service to provide emergency food assistance to families at both academies and within our community. The Hub has also launched a food pantry this year which allows families to donate items. The food pantry is there for those who are not eligible for the local community shop but are struggling with finances.
Oasis Hub South Grimsby works in partnership as a collection point and distribution point for the We are One Foundation, a food pantry which helps to alleviate food poverty in North East Lincolnshire.
