History

Miss Holmes’ class (9X1) - Weimar Republic Golden Years

Task 1 – Using the resources below, create a table (on paper or on laptops) like so (you can do a mind map if that is easier but make it LARGE and CLEAR):

GOLDEN AGE

NOT A GOLDEN AGE

Foreign Policy

Economy

·         Stresemann used the Rentenmark to stabilize the economy after hyperinflation (later became the Reichsmark).

·         The reliance on American banks meant that when Wall Street crashed in 1929, the German economy was destroyed.

Culture (Art, Architecture, Women etc.)

Using the information in the following resources to fill in the mind map/table. For each row you should aim for at least six points – three for and three against there being a Golden Age in Germany. Keep this simple and neat as it will be a good revision tool.

Resources:

·         https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/guides/z9y64j6/revision/6 (sections 6-9)

·         Golden Years section in History folder

·         Your work booklet/knowledge organiser (email me if you need one re-sending)

Task 2 – Click here to complete the quiz (I can see who has attempted this and how many you get right, so I would like you all to have a go – don’t worry about the score too much, it just helps me know where you need help!).

Challenge – Watch this film, it is Hollywood-style so easy-watching compared to a documentary, but good for recapping all the events. Especially good for the Munich Putsch (starts 1 hour 42 seconds in.)  https://youtu.be/B7Odc_rtn68

Please send any questions and work you complete to katherine.holmes@oasiswintringham.org

Mr Ravi’s classes (9X3 and 9Y2) - There is a task, a quiz, and a Challenge question on the Weimar Golden Age, which can be found in the History tab, labelled ‘Mr Ravi Lesson 3’. All the information you need can be found at the link below. There is also a Glossary at the bottom of the link that will help you with any vocabulary you are unsure of:

Please send any questions and work you complete to rahul.ravi@oasiswintringham.org
